the Exceptional

Design

experiences with
Q Wealth partners

Hi there—yes, I was the intern behind the slides,
the templates, and probably that nicely designed webpage.

Welcome to the front-row

seat of a fast-paced world of

in-house design

(in finance, no less),

where clean layouts,

clear communication, and

consistent branding are

the name of the game.

Be Kind - ONELIFE

One of my favourite projects during the internship was working on the OneLife “Be Kind” campaign—a wholesome initiative that encouraged kindness, mindfulness, and all the good vibes across the firm. I collaborated with Ensiyah on concepts and helped bring the campaign to life across different touchpoints.

What I worked on:

  • Designed the campaign landing page to keep the vibe warm, friendly, and on-brand
  • Created the Be Kind card—a small, shareable piece to keep the message going IRL
  • Designed matching social posts to help spread the love online

Tools & skills used:

  • Visual storytelling and brand adaptation
  • Photo editing and asset creation
  • Layout design for web and print

Big takeaways:

Creating cohesive brand visuals across digital, print, and social can seriously elevate even the simplest message—and a good gradient never hurts.

Summer Staff Social Party

This project was all about taking a basic template and turning it into something way cooler. For Q Wealth’s Summer Staff Social, I worked with Jeff, Ensiyah, and Olivia to create a fresh, summery visual theme that made the event feel fun and well put-together—without straying from brand vibes. Even though we started from an existing template, we gave it a glow-up with new color choices, illustrations, and a playful layout.

What I worked on:

  • Designed visuals for the event email, Instagram post, and poster
  • Adapted assets across different formats while keeping everything cohesive
  • Creative problem-solving (aka: making a template not look like a template)

Tools & skills used:

  • Photoshop + Illustrator for tweaks and layout edits
  • Creative problem-solving (aka: making a template not look like a template)
  • Team collaboration and quick turnarounds

Big takeaways:

Sometimes the most fun projects are the ones where you get to remix the familiar. This one showed me how much a small shift in color, copy, or layout can change the entire vibe—and how great teamwork makes it all come together faster and better.

Brochure - Elevate Wealth Management

A sleek start to the internship 📈

One of the very first projects I worked on at Q Wealth was a brochure for Elevate Wealth Management—a partner firm that needed something clean, professional, and visually sharp to match their brand. It was a great intro to designing in the financial space, where every detail matters and clarity is everything.I collaborated with Olivia and Jeff to shape the look and feel, making sure the design struck the right balance between professional and inviting. Seeing the layout come together—from initial concepts to final polished brochure—was super satisfying, and it set the tone for the rest of my internship.

What I worked on:

  • Designed the full brochure layout
  • Helped choose visual elements that felt elevated but still on-brand
  • Adjusted structure and spacing for clarity and flow

Tools & skills used:

  • Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for image editing
  • Visual hierarchy + layout design
  • Adapting financial info into dynamic, clean, and digestible content

Big takeaway:

Kicking off with this project taught me how to approach design with both aesthetic and strategy in mind—especially in a space where brand trust is everything.

Business Cards Design

Tiny cards, big personality.

Throughout my internship, I also got to work on a few business card designs for Q Wealth partner firms—each with their own branding and vibe. I collaborated with Sandra to create cards for CANVAS, Callan, and PWM, making sure each one felt sleek, professional, and aligned with their visual identity. For SWB, I took a slightly different route and designed a custom layout that leaned into their unique brand aesthetic—giving their card a little extra personality while keeping it sharp and on-brand.

What I worked on:

  • Designed multiple sets of branded business cards
  • Adapted layouts for different firms
  • Balanced creativity with clean, professional structure

Tools & skills used:

  • Illustrator for layout and design
  • Brand adaptation and consistency
  • Collaborative feedback with the team

Big takeaway:

Even small pieces like business cards can pack a punch—and it was fun finding ways to make each one feel custom without overcomplicating the design.

Design Support
That Keeps Things
Moving

Outside of the big projects, I also jumped in on a bunch of day-to-day design tasks that helped keep the marketing engine running.
From building out presentation decks,
designing company brochures and internal documents,
to creating social graphics, doing light web edits,
and even helping publish blog content.
I was all in.

That’s the highlight reel!

Designing with Q Wealth over the past few months was such a rewarding experience—from my first presentation deck to the latest brochure. I learned a ton, collaborated with some awesome people, and had a blast creating work that was equal parts functional and beautiful. Huge shoutout to the team for making this internship such a solid learning experience.
